Nice treed and shady site: some on the lake. The site we were (#28) was not level, thank goodness for Lynx blocks! Sites are separated from each other by vegetation. Located about 40 minutes from Bryan College Station on country roads. Friendly, helpful staff: even offered to have a Ranger come back my trailer in for me! We will be back again!

This is a very nice, clean country-type CG outside of Giddings. Close to La Grange and other towns. Very friendly owners -- very accommodating. Nice LARGE sites w/trees & shade. Can get some TV channels via antenna. Wi-Fi available in park; however it didn't work but once for me. I couldn't get it at all after 9PM @ night, but it wasn't that important so I didn't pursue it. $20/night for 2 people; $2 extra each night PP. Discounts for weekly/monthly.

We just stayed here mostly so we could go to Fiesta Texas. This park is about 25 minutes from Fiesta Texas -- a short little drive really and the price is good! Partly shady or mostly shady sites, and a river to play in! River is WAY down but still flowing and clear. Burn ban still enforced, but you can have small personal grills for cooking. We would definitely stay here again!

Spacious wooded sites -- lots with full shade! Nice hiking/walking/biking trails. The alligators are the highlight of the trip! They have an awesome Nature Center -- we got to go back & watch them feed baby alligators. Staff is very welcoming & always ready to take a snake or baby alligator out to let you see it 'up close & personal'. One drawback: loops are large and bathroom/showers are at the front. If you're at the back you'll have to bike/drive to go.

Has RV's & cabin-type set ups for rent. Pool, river beach access, mini-golf, water slide, game room. Among LOTS of trees -- about 30 minutes from Hwy. 12.

I gave an '8' only for lack of shade and I never could get the internet to connect. Very nice little park right off I-10. Cable TV works great. Small pool but clean. Bathrooms immaculate! Nice level pull-thru sites. Very friendly hosts -- my son got stung by a wasp & they were all over us trying to help! Close to Lafayette. Accepted Passport America on a Saturday night for ONE night (but must pay cash). I would use it again!

Very nice, large, shady sites. Level gravel pads. Nicely landscaped with separate picnic table area (some have decks/patios). We stayed in area C. Friendly staff. About 25 minutes from downtown Hot Springs. LOTS of activities planned daily during the summer that are all free and geared to different ages. Great family atmosphere.

Stayed here 3 nights to go to Fiesta Texas (30 easy minutes away). PA for 2 nights & 1 night at full rate. $3 extra per night for anyone but the first adult. Pool small but clean; restrooms/showers clean; game room & TV available. Lots of burrs so watch the dogs & kids when barefoot! Beautiful views! Would stay here again.

As always -- GREAT!! Our 3rd year here. Some bathrooms are being redone or have been remodeled -- check when you arrive to see about closures. Lots of day visitors as usual. Be sure and bring everything in you need to eat -- nearest Walmart or grocery store is 45 minutes away. Ice available in the park store. Watch the alcohol consumption -- even in campsite. Rangers have been recently coming over to 'sniff' your drink, even in a red cup. Just watch it. We love the place!

We stayed here for Spring Break. Unlike the previous poster, we NEVER smelled horses -- even with some in the corral 30 yards away. The sites are dirt, so there's some dust. But this is WEST TEXAS, folks. That's all there is -- unless you WANT a concrete RV park. Very friendly people & the weekly rate is only $110 (we got it even though we were staying 8 nights)-- they just said 'oh, that's OK.' There are scheduled hay rides, trail rides, you can eat at their all-you-can-eat buffet 3 times a day if you want. They give you a schedule when you check in. For Spring Break they served meals all week long -- I don't know if they do that all the time though. Pool is BARELY heated, but it's in a greenhouse-type enclosure so if the sun's out it's plenty HOT in there to swim. The kiddos enjoy it! Bathrooms at the pool house were kinda dirty, but those are the ones John Q. Public uses so they get a LOT of traffic. The baths/showers up on the hill are MUCH nicer. There are pull-thru sites right at the entrance, and a few back-in sites up the hill by the cabins. We stayed in the pull-thru sites. Bottom line: if you WANT an RV park, there are some in town. If you WANT a different experience with friendly Texas folk, and like horses (or just want to ride, or chill out) -- this is the place. We enjoyed it and would stay again.

Spring Creek Park is part of the Precinct 4 Parks around Tomball and Spring, TX. There are 8 FHU sites that are FREE. (I put $1 in because the site wouldn't take "0"). The rules are you can stay here 7 nights every 30 days. The bathrooms & showers are completely redone and very clean. There are tennis & basketball courts which are fully lighted at night. Two playgrounds, picnic tables, grills, and plenty of open space! Tent camping IS allowed also. There is a small creek running through the park where you can fish, and several hiking trails. No ground fires allowed. There are also pavilions and group centers you can rent. While there I saw Scout troops camping out as well as a birthday party in full swing! Caveat: they LOCK the gates at 10PM and you don't get a gate code. They reopen the gates at 8AM.

Great place for being close to Austin, yet in-the-country feel! Onion Creek passes right through the park & you can swim/wade near the Falls (if it's not closed due to high bacteria count). Nice level concrete pull-through sites with shade, woods, deer, playgrounds, etc. HOT water for showers! Very popular park so make reservations early!

Nice park & less than 15 minutes from Huntsville TX. Park encompasses Lake Raven where you can fish, boat,(electric motors only), canoe/kayak, or swim. Nicely laid-out sites with lots of shade & mostly pull-thru. Concrete stairs down to lake level in the area we stayed at. Small playground, fish-cleaning stations, nature trails, and wildlife observatory with baby alligators, etc.

Garner SP is the most visited park in Texas. Families have been having reunions here for 30-40-50 years or more. Books up WELL in advance of summer! Garner is a place like no other. Family-friendly, yet those nightly dances and 'hot summer nights' -- let's just say plenty of kids get their first kiss at Garner! Or their first dance, or both! Rope swings, tubing on the river, paddleboat/kayak rentals, hiking & biking -- it's all here at Garner!

Stayed here only to be close to Fiesta Texas. They offer a free shuttle to Sea World which they are closest to. Clean park, well-laid out. Swimming pool & playground OK for the kids but we didn't spend much time at either one. Friendly staff. Price reflects Passport America plan.

Very nice quiet SP/CG. I liked that it only had 37 sites. Sites are partially/fully shaded but there is lots of brush separating each site -- you can't even see your neighbor. I'm not sure you could get a "big" rig in there, but I did see a 35'er diesel pusher. Plenty of room for slides/awnings, etc. Some concrete padded sites for handicap-accessible. Most sites gravel/crushed shell. Only one restroom/shower combo for all sites, but we didn't have a problem with lines. Restrooms are cleaned religiously every day from 9-10AM so don't expect to 'go' then!! Roomy showers/plenty of hot water. There is an inner loop & outer loop. Restroom is in the center, so some inner loop sites have the restroom 'paths' right next to them with lots of foot traffic going by your site. I believe those are the 'odd' numbers. Even numbers are in the outer loop, & some of those are on the inland lake on the site. We could drag our 'yak right down from our site (#16) to the water. CG is not right on the beach. 2 min. drive or 5 min. bike ride. Beach is beautiful, white sand, and turquoise water!! Lots of 'day' visitors so get to the beach to stake your spot out early !! Can bike to small town of Grayton (10 min. west) or Seaside/Watercolor (20 min. east). Both nice quaint towns.

Gorgeous setting on Lake Greeson. Most sites waterfront with access to lake. Swimming, fishing, boating (boat docks available). Nice shade sites with picnic tables, fire rings/grills. About 30 minutes from Murfreesboro; 45 minutes from Nashville (AR); 1 hour from Hot Springs. HIGHLY recommended!

I needed a place close to downtown San Antonio & Traveler's World fit the bill! Right on the bus route and 10 minutes from the Convention Center. Amenities included: pool, hot tub, clean restrooms/showers, laundry, exercise room, gift shop, Wi-Fi available, and cable. Grounds nicely landscaped & kept up. HUGE dog walk connected to park along with 8 mile hike 'n bike trail along the San Antonio River. I would stay here again!

Part of the Sam Houston National Forest, Cagle Recreation Area is a hidden gem among the Piney Woods. All sites are separated & mostly shaded, with gravel driveways and tent pads. Campfires were allowed when we visited -- check the web site for 'burn bans'. Boat dock within the park for access to Lake Conroe. Concreted hike 'n bike trails through the woods. Sycamore Loop is the one closest to the boat dock & the lake. Some lakeside sites available.

We stayed here while visiting New Mexico for 5 days last Christmas. Park is a little drive out of the city but GREAT for nature lovers & those that don't like the "RV Park" type atmosphere all the time. Sites were separated, some shaded, with picnic tables under shelter. Very quiet & nicely kept State Park. Small playground & hiking trails down to the nearby lake.

Great fun for the kids! We went during their Halloween Scare Party & my son & his cousin had tons of fun! Water park & separate swimming pool. Free mini-golf, tennis, badmitton, horseshoes -- get all the equipment from the office! Petting zoo. Crafts (some cost extra). Sunday morning pancake breakfast (extra). Hayrides, Friday night movies. Expensive, as now they charge per person as well as the site fee. But for the kids -- well worth it!
